Hi friends! Im excited to start discussions on a new idea I have which Im calling the Rescue Card.
In September of 2024, I had a PTSD episode that I considered a mental breakdown. I was emotionally paralyzed and found it impossible to do anything other than finding solice in my basement. Once I felt comfortable, I began spending literally all of my time in meditation. Some moments were spent finding my way back to spirituality but most were in deep meditative thought. I had a difficult time at first too. As an adhd sufferer, I cant tell you how many moments were spent getting off topic. The first time I sat there and really meditated, I spent a little over 7 hours. I needed to find the space that people speak of when they refer to this practice and what I found was simple. If our lungs have 100% air capacity, how much are we really using through out our day? Sometimes, we breathe fast and shallow while other moments find us slow and deep. In those slow and deep breaths, I found I wasnt using the rremaining 10-15% of my lung space. Peace for me lied within emptying the bottom of my lungs to literally 0%.
I contribute the rebound described above to a foundation of meditation through an app called Headspace. The founder, Andy narrates you peacefully through guided breathing that provides peace and relaxation. At this moment, I have over 4000 minutes clocked and still going! Through discussions with my therapist, I learned quite a bit on scanning your body, focusing deeply on breath and counting your breaths up to 10. If you have interest in trying out this app, heres a 30 day pass. Im not an affiliate of headspace. This is from me to you:) Also if this app isnt of interest but you'd still like to learn, I'd love to help.
Meditation is just one of the 7+ remedies I plan on sharing with this rescue card.
Fun things ahead!
